APAS, LLC
Our company, while a young
establishment, is deep rooted in a rich tradition and knowledge of
providing Quality Food products to the consumer. APAS, LLC was named in
honor of our grandfather, Adrian Mata. From the first day that we could
speak, Adrian Mata was known as Apa. While the name is usually used for
one’s father, we affectionately called our grandfather, Apa.
APA was a very hard
working and smart entrepreneur. As a young man, he purchased land in
the Salinas Valley and planted strawberries. Within a few years, Apa
was able to take this acreage and make a very successful business for
his family. During these years, the strawberry fields produced some of
the largest and sweetest strawberries the valley had to offer. Larger,
more recognized growers would come to our grandfather and purchase his
strawberries whenever they wanted to show quality product to some of
their prospective buyers. These growers came to Apa, not only because
of the quality of the product, but because our Grandfather knew that by
presenting his carton of strawberries, with his special touch (only the
largest, decorated with small little flowers, etc.), the presentation
would hook the buyer, and the taste would seal the deal. Apa was able
to sell this special product at four times the rate of a standard
carton, not only because of the quality presentation, but also because
of the quality of the product. This packaging and product presentation
assisted the growers in increasing their business. From this business
model, Apa knew that the road to success was to be consistent and
provide quality products. Apa took this knowledge, and some of his
profits, and opened a tortilla factory in Southern California.
Utilizing the same business concept, Apa along with his family, was able
to create another very successful business.
As his grandson, I am
proud to say that we inherited his hard work ethic, business sense, and
created APAS, LLC. We have research various areas for products that we
feel would be of benefit to our economy, provide value, health benefits
and a touch of the New World. We take pride in providing “Quality
Products for a Gourmet Market”.
We decided to introduce
products that are not mass produced, but come from smaller growers that
utilize State of the Art technologies without compromising on quality.
It is for this reason that we proudly represent fine quality Extra
Virgin Olive Oil and Extra Virgin Avocado Oil from some of the best that
Chile has to offer. Our EVOO’s are monovarietals that may be paired with
various foods, much as our Premium Wines are currently paired. Our
Extra Virgin Avocado Oil is exquisite and provides the consumer with
potentially greater health benefits and the added benefit of having a
higher burn rate so that one may cook with the oil.
To accompany our oils we
also work with a variety of small Wineries that provides us with
exquisite tasting wines at a great value. Chile has been growing in
notoriety for its’ fine wines, mostly from the established Wineries, but
these smaller Wineries are gems waiting to be discovered by those with
a discerning palate as well as those that just enjoy the superb flavors
these wines have to offer.
